Institutional Marketing Strategist, Journals

The Institutional Marketing Strategist, Journals is an experienced marketing professional with a proven ability to develop agency-quality creative and guidance for all Journals marketing pieces. This candidate should be experienced in planning, executing, and tracking the performance of campaigns that include digital and print media.

Primary responsibilities include the development of promotional materials for institutional clients. These include advertising and convention exhibit campaigns; direct mail and direct response communications; e-mail and Web promotions; press releases; and branding and positioning campaigns. The Manager should be creative, work well in occasionally high-pressure situations, be organized, proactive, analytical, and be comfortable leading and coordinating. Duties include, but are not limited to, concept development, project budget maintenance, writing, editing and proofreading. They should also contribute to the department’s corporate strategy and business development efforts, as required by the SVP. 


Principal responsibilities will be to:

  • Establish and articulate marketing campaigns, strategies, and objectives to internal clients and team members.
  • Advise senior staff on engagement trends and future campaigns that need to be created/executed.
  • Direct creative production of marketing assets through initial concept, and copywriting, while collaborating with the Creative Director, the Art Director, and their teams for asset execution.
  • Oversee multi-faceted campaigns to ensure timely delivery of approved assets for each part or at each stage of the campaign.
  • Excel at account management aspects of campaigns including: time management, meeting deadlines, obtaining approvals, budget maintenance, monitoring and analysis.
  • Develop overarching content strategies; including tracking E-contents engagement with Selligent’s tools; developing A/B testing initiatives
  • Act as lead strategist for Social Media campaigns - tracking followers, advising Journals staff on increasing engagements, developing campaigns to increase followers
  • Trendspotting in Google Analytics – working with the existing SLACK analytics team and independently in GA to identify keywords that are performing well, including these in article titles, increasing usage stats that ultimately increase revenue.
  • Tracking Analytics of the Healio Psychiatry Education Lab – developing engagement campaigns for increasing test takers and CME revenue


Work experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Public Relations or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of marketing communications or advertising is necessary
  • Experience with project leadership
  • Superior editing/proofreading skills
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve, find solutions and make informed decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Working knowledge of email management software preferred.

Part-Time Digital Advertising Coordinator

SLACK Incorporated is seeking a Part-time Digital Advertising Coordinator seeking to gain entry level experience in the technical skills required to set-up and run digital advertising campaigns.  The Digital Advertising Operations Intern will complete assigned projects for a customer service team that supports our digital advertising clients.  The successful candidate will use ad servers and other technology to manage digital advertising campaigns and provide reporting data to clients and sales people; support the Digital Operations staff to update Salesforce CRM; update monthly reports; and process monthly billing and assist sales staff in completion of digital request for proposals. This is a 15-hour per week opportunity that can grow into full-time employment in 2020 for a college student who aspires to work full time in digital operations upon graduation.  Must be detail oriented and able to learn new skills quickly.  Job requirements include the ability to work at computer for extended periods with periodic breaks; ability to utilize Windows-based PC, MS Office apps, and various web-based platforms; ability to utilize desktop phone and ability to sit, stand, and use computer.
